Not another 'B' Set!
After aquiring another 3mm Society kit, I hope
to have improved on my previous efforts.
These photos show how far I have gotten,
taken a couple of evenings to get this far. I
already have the bogies made, having relieved
Nigel of the set off his. I hope this shows how
easy it is to make the excellent 3mm Society kits.
I find it a lot easier than wrestling with digital
cameras-haven't mastered the new Olympus yet.
Suddenly a good picture pops up then it's back
to normal. Also, I havent a clue how to organise the posts,
the pictures seem to have a mind of their own so
please excuse the seemingly random layout of the posts.

More 3mm Vehicles
I remember ,when an apprentice mechanic that many of the breakdown vehikcles were sourced from ex-army vehicles. The company I worked for had an ex military AEC Militant, a six wheel four wheel drive. Quite a beast but would move anything.
QRF list a thornycroft Wrecker that may be OK for 3mm.

3MM Tractor
Couldn't delay, here is the primed image of my latest addition. A Case Tractor. Many were sold in the UK in the late 40s through to the late 50s so perfect for my needs.
It has been sourced from QRF Models in deepest Dorset. They mainly supply wargaming items, over 3000 of them in fact , but in their lists of 15mm items are a few models of use to us 3Millers. I also have a Bedford which needs a bit more work and be scaled.
3MM Society Mica Kit
Coming shortly is a tractor! I have been looking for one in 3mm for some time and have now managed to find a source. At the moment it is still in primer and will soon be painted to represent a Case L42 from which the model is derived. Watch this space.
My latest layout has been revised to be a terminus to fiddleyard in a U Shape.
Hennock is due to appear in 2011 at:-
Wilton-7/8th May
Andover 3/4th September
Weymouth 29/30th October.

Western Region Toad Brakevan
Some time since last addition. Have been working
on various projects
including a couple of new Toads. Both have been made from 3mm Society kits. The handrails have been added by using microrod. They are slightly too big in depth but was the easiest way to add them.
I also have a new camera, this time an Olympus X-940 due to the breakage of the Canon used previously.
New bookings have been recieved for 'Hennock', these will be published shortly.
Plans for our Westfest exhibition in Bournemouth are coming on, this will be on17th September this year in Bournemouth.

Replacement Cattle Dock

The other photo shows the delightful Scammel Mechanical Horse and trailer as available from the 3mm Society, sorry the image is a bit fuzzy-I will master this camera one day! A simple white metal kit painted in early BR Blood and Custard, the trailer is modelled with the wheels down and usually it stands in the Cider Factory entrance.
Saturday see's Hennock at Burnam MRE-say hello -there are three 3mm layouts-who said 3mm is dead!

New Layout Takes Shape
This is the updated view of my new 3mm scale layout. Using Peco Hom track and points it is a continuous circuit approximately 11ft x 4ft 6ins. As yet without a name but again an ex GWR branch which at some time has been reduced to single track running.
With live frog points, these are operated by slide switches and wire in tube.
